Malcolm C. Minkle, 85, Korean War Veteran

Malcolm C. Minkle, 85, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 20, at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill.

He was the husband of the late Lillian (Rafferty) Minkle. He was born in Haverhill, Dec. 28, 1932, son of the late Albert and Alice (Demeritt) Minkle. He was a lifelong resident of Haverhill and grew up attending local schools. Minkle served in The United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed with Rosengard & Hale Furniture, Brentwood Furniture in Haverhill and later Tech Coating Company in Haverhill before retiring in 1984. Minkle was a member of the VFW Lorraine Post 29 in Haverhill and coached little-league baseball in Haverhill. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening, wood working and was an avid fan of all New England sports teams.

Minkle is survived by his three sisters, Madeline Hale, Charlotte Costarides and Betty Beam, all of Haverhill; several nieces, nephews, friends; and his companion Mary Murphy of Haverhill. The family thanks the staff at High Pointe Hospice.

Relatives and friends are requested to attend visiting hours Wednesday, Feb. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill. Burial is private.
