Arnold Willette, 89, of Haverhill, passed away Sat., Feb. 17 at Holy Family Hospital, Haverhill.
He was born in Fitchburg, June 19, 1928, son of the late Arthur and Eva (Gauy) Willette. Willette was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from the Haverhill Trade School prior to attending Northern Essex Community College.
Willette retired from AT&T in 1990 after 37 years of employment. He enjoyed reading, playing cards and was a Haverhill historian. He would make scrap books of Haverhill’s history and sell them at the Haverhill library.
Willette is survived by his wife Claire (Ethier) Willette of Haverhill; children, David G. Willette and his wife Cathy of Derry, N.H., Gary Willette of Phoenix, Ariz., and Diane Packard of Haverhill; brother, Donald Willette of Texas; sister, Beverly Smith of Merrimac; four grandchildren, Nicholas Willette, Jason Willette, Jennifer Willette and Danny Packard; as well as many nieces and nephews.
At his request, funeral services were private. Arrangements were under the direction of H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Homes of Haverhill and Bradford.
