Police in Methuen are investigating after property and monuments at the city’s First Church were vandalized over the weekend.

In a social media post Monday, the Church confirmed that memorial benches in the front of the sanctuary were toppled and damaged. Calling the act “disheartening,” Church officials said they filed an incident report with Methuen Police.
