A Haverhill woman is among 12 who were recently indicted by an Essex County grand jury this week in connection with a heroin and fentanyl trafficking operation, broken up last fall in a state and federal “takedown.”

Cheryl Margosian was indicted on three counts of fentanyl trafficking and one count of conspiracy to violate drug laws. As WHAV reported last October, police searched properties in Haverhill, Lawrence, Lowell and Peabody and seized approximately 600 grams of heroin and fentanyl as well as $21,000 in cash. During an earlier phase of the investigation, an additional 300 grams suspected heroin and fentanyl was taken, according to Attorney General Maura Healey.

The raid also marked the largest single search warrant seizure of illegal guns under Healey’s administration. The indictments were handed down Monday and Wednesday.
