Sylvia A. (Riciputi) Pulzetti, 98, Hale Hospital Maternity Nurse

Sylvia A. (Riciputi) Pulzetti, 98, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away Monday, Feb. 5.

She was born July 30, 1919, daughter of Agostino and Paola (Zavatta) Riciputi. Pulzetti attended Haverhill public schools, graduating in 1937. She was a 1940 graduate of the Nashua Memorial School of Nursing and spent her career at the Hale Hospital in Haverhill almost wholly as a maternity nurse.

She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Americo F. Pulzetti, who died in 2010, infant son Eugene, who died in 1947, sister Gianina (Riciputi) Lomazzo, who died in 2003, and daughter-in-law Deborah (Clohecy) Pulzetti, who died in 2001.

She is survived by her sister, Angelina Schepis; son, Louis Pulzetti, daughter-in-law Judith Pulzetti, son David Pulzetti and his wife Kay Brown Spofford; five grandchildren, Melissa Janvrin, Jennifer Leighton, Maria Pulzetti, Jessica Nguy and Adam Pulzetti and nine great-grandchildren.

Pulzetti was a member of Sacred Hearts Parish in Bradford and, along with Americo, served as a Eucharist minister there. Her involvement with the parish school includes teaching Sunday School classes, fund raising work and seamstress work for parish plays. For much of her life, she made daily visits to the church.

Pulzetti’s family acknowledges the superb care given by the Baker-Katz Nursing Home over a period of four years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life at H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Bradford. An hour of visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. precedes the funeral service which begins at 11:15, Saturday, Feb. 10. Burial follows at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 395 N. Broadway, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sacred Hearts Food Pantry, 165 South Main Street, Haverhill, 01835, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
