Mary E. ‘Edna’ Davis, 97, Worked at Western Electric

Mary E. “Edna” Davis, 97, passed away peacefully Jan. 30, at Penacook Place, Haverhill.

She was born in Haverhill July 30, 1920, daughter of the late William H. & Celena (St. Lawrence) Clohecy.

She was educated in the Haverhill School System and was employed as a layout operator at Western Electric for 26 years before retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Davis was well known as the cake lady making beautiful special occasion and wedding cakes. She  was an avid gardener and adored her pets. She and her husband Bob enjoyed traveling on cruise vacations and had many happy retirement years living in Florida.

She was the wife of the late Robert W. Davis who passed away in 1993, step mother of the late Robert Jeffrey Davis and the late Gregory C. Davis. She was predeceased by her brother, Lawrence Clohecy and her sisters Claire Davis and Eileen Law. Davis is survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

The family extends its sincere gratitude to the staff at Penacook Place for their outstanding caregiving and compassion.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation Wed., Feb. 7, from 10 to 10:45 a.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, with a memorial service to follow at 11 in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover.
