Mary Charlotte (Kearns) Kothman, 85, Worked for Bixby Box Toe Co.

Mary Charlotte (Kearns) Kothman, 85, of Bradford and formerly of Needham, passed away Jan. 30, at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, with her family by her side.

She was born in Boston Feb. 23, 1932, daughter of Alice and William Kearns of Needham. She was the wife of the late John Kothman who passed in 2003.

Kothman was employed prior to her marriage by Bell Telephone as a chief operator in Needham and was later employed by Bixby Box Toe of Haverhill. She was an avid bowler, belonging to several leagues at Academy Lanes in Bradford, were she bowled for 47 years and held several titles and leaves behind many dear friends from her bowling leagues. She was a devout Catholic, and longtime parishioner of Sacred Hearts Parish and a very fond attendee of Fr. Ben’s Masses. Her Rosary was her strength and life.

Surviving family members include her four children John F. Kothman Jr. of Haverhill, Kimberly Merritt and husband Walter, II of Haverhill, Cheryl Fanaras and fiancé Mark Sydlowski of Bradford and Allison Boisclair and husband Robert of Haverhill; 10 grandchildren, Lauren Merritt and fiancée Emily Hastings, Meghan Mary Merritt-Schaffer and husband Jeffery, Tiffany Kothman-Riccio and husband Fred, Sean Kothman and wife Brittany, Alicia Fanaras and Nick Dobbs, Mark Nathan Fanaras, Adam J. Fanaras, Robert Boisclair, Danielle Boisclair and Steven Boisclair; five great-grandchildren, Freddy Riccio, Dante Riccio and Vincent Riccio, William Roman-Ovares and Eliza Ann Merritt–Schaffer; siblings Barbara Barr of Needham, Marylyn McCallister of Plymouth, Richard Kearns of Pompano Beach, Fla., twin brother James Kearns of Hudson, N.H., and Paul Kearns of Hudson, N.H.; and friend and neighbor Fran Hanagan of Bradford. She was predeceased by her son Michael James Kothman and siblings Norman Kearns and Virginia Kearns Kelly.

The Kothman family thanks all of those who took such wonderful care of Mary during the last days of her life.

Visiting hours are Monday, Feb. 5, at Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main St., Haverhill, from 2 to 7 p.m. Services begin Tuesday in the funeral home at 10 a.m.. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 S. Main St., Bradford, at 11 a.m. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
