Margaret Mary Ritchie, 97, Member of Winnekenni Board of Directors

Margaret Mary Ritchie, 97, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18 at Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover with her loving family by her side.
Born in Bonshaw, Prince Edward Island, she was the daughter of the late Raymond B. and Elizabeth A. (McCaughey) Ritchie. She was educated in the Haverhill school system. Ritchie was employed in the accounts payable department as a bookkeeper and salesperson at John D. Osgood, Inc. and Nelson M. Powell, Inc. electrical suppliers.

She was active in the former St. Rita’s Parish, teaching CCD as well as Sacred Hearts and All Saints Church. She was a member and Vice Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America, No. 864 at Sacred Hearts. Ritchie was on the Board of Directors at Winnekenni Castle and a member of the Drama Guild and Winnekenni Players, singing group Living Presence and the Music Masters. She volunteered at various nursing homes throughout the Merrimack Valley, including Hannah Duston. She also volunteered at St. Rita’s Bazaar and the Women’s City Club in Haverhill.

Ritchie is survived by her nieces and nephews, Michael Ritchie, Suzanne Stich, Brian Ritchie, Kevin Ritchie, Carol Lagasse, Joanne Blynn, Patricia Wentworth, Robert Ritchie, Beth Hill, William Ritchie, Thomas Ritchie, Christopher Ritchie, Marianne McMorrow and Joan Goodchild and a sister-in-law, Margie Ritchie of Concord. She was predeceased by her nephew Timothy Ritchie, brothers John M. Ritchie, Father Francis Ritchie, Robert C. Ritchie, Joseph P. Ritchie and William E. Ritchie.

Family and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following at 11 a.m. at All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Vincent DePaul Society, C/O All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill.
