More than a dozen local companies have earned top honors from the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce and are recognized as part of the Chamber’s 2017 business awards.

Ahead of the Haverhill Chamber’s annual Business Awards Breakfast on Friday, Feb. 9, the group has announced the restaurants, nonprofits and other organizations they’ll highlight. New categories this year include Volunteer of the Year and a Rising Star award, which spotlights an innovator and emerging leader in the community.

Servpro of Haverhill’s Mary Ellen Lawlor is lauded for her volunteerism, while Jason Petrou of CEO Beverages earned the Rising Star honor.

“We are thrilled to recognize Mary Ellen Lawlor of Servpro as the first Volunteer of the Year and Jason Petrou of CEO Beverages as the first recipient of the Rising Star award,” Chamber President Beverly Donovan said. “Both Mary Ellen and Jason are exceptional examples of these awards and embody the admirable qualities we look for in a recipient.”
