Rose Lanza, 93, Worked for Dan Ray Machine

Rose Lanza, 93, of Glen, N.H., and formerly of Haverhill, passed away peacefully at her home Jan. 13.

Lanza was born and educated in Haverhill. She worked as a secretary for Dan Ray Machine, on Essex Street, Haverhill. She also worked with her companion Harold Pike at Pikes Funeral Home in Gloucester as a bookkeeper. Lanza volunteered at the Chamber of Commerce for many years in North Conway.

She is survived by her three nephews, Michael Lanza and his predeceased wife Marsha of Illinois, Mark and Cindy Lanza of Plaistow, N.H., and Peter and Shelley Lanza of Connecticut; “great nephews” Jeff, Michael, Andrew, Brian, Danny, Ryan, Mark II, Charlie and her only “great niece” Stephanie. She was predeceased by her parents Michele and Mary Lanza, her brother Peter S. Lanza and her longtime companion Harold Pike.

She had a very strong Catholic faith. Lanza owned homes in Haverhill, Plaistow, Lake Winnipesaukee, and Glen N.H. She was an international traveler. Sailing in the Caribbean on the Tusitalia, Skiing in Switzerland, Austria, and Norway with friends and her great niece Stephanie in North Conway when she was in her late 70s. She loved boating on Lake Winnipesaukee at her lake home that she owned with Harold, golfing, playing tennis and hosting many dinner parties with her friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

The family is grateful for Timberland Home Care and her special caregivers Dottie, Sonia, Autumn, and Diane for providing her with care, support, companionship, and prayers.

Calling hours take place Thursday, Jan. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave. Haverhill. A funeral mass to celebrate her life takes place Friday at 10 a.m., from Sacred Hearts Parish, 165 S. Main St., Bradford. Burial takes place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill.
