Robert M. Griggs, 68, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10 at the Oxford Nursing Home in Haverhill.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Irene (Ladebush) Griggs. Raised and educated in Merrimac, Griggs was a graduate of Pentucket Regional School, Class of 1969. He was employed for many years at DeLuca Chevrolet in Bradford and How Chevrolet in Amesbury as the parts manager. He stayed in the auto repair industry, working for various auto parts establishments.
Griggs was a big NASCAR fan and enjoyed all the local sports teams. He was known for his quick wit and great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Griggs is survived by his children Matthew Griggs of Haverhill, Jamie Griggs, grandchildren C.J. and Paige, his sister Gail A. Gillen of Merrimac, brothe- in-law Franklin Gillen of Plainville, sister-in-law Mary Griggs of Newton, N.H. and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Charles A. “Chucky” Griggs, Jr.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.
