Dorothy E. (Dufresne) Demand, 94

Dorothy E. (Dufresne) Demand, 94, of Haverhill, passed away at home on Saturday, Jan. 13. She was the devoted wife of William E. Demand. Born in Haverhill on Nov. 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Marion (Desmaris) Dufresne. She graduated from Haverhill High School and was a lifelong resident of Haverhill. Demand and her husband William were married for over 74 years and devoted their lives to raising their family and caring for their children and grandchildren.

In addition to spending time with family, she enjoyed going to the beach, playing Bingo and working on word searches. Demand was a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and caring friend. She will be dearly missed by all those blessed to have known her.

Demand is survived by her adoring husband, William E. Demand of Haverhill, two daughters Patricia Hamilton of Lawrence and Maureen Neville of Haverhill, four grandchildren Toni Wedge, Sarah Gevinski, Daniel Bresnahan and Richard Bresnahan, and 12 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two brothers Edward Dufresne and Raymond Dufresne, two sisters Mildred Wall and Jeanette Marquis, several nieces, nephews and countless friends. She was predeceased by her sister Evelyn LaChapelle, and grandson Jon Baston.

Services are private and are in the care of The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave. Haverhill.
