Methuen Woman Struck, Killed by Andover MBTA Train

A 41-year-old Methuen woman was struck and killed by an MBTA commuter train late Thursday, Carrie Kimball-Monahan, spokeswoman for the office of Essex County District Attorney Jonathan W. Blodgett, tells WHAV.

Christine Macaulay was hit just south of the Ballardvale station on Andover Street around 10:30 p.m., police said.

“Foul play is not suspected,” Kimball-Monahan confirmed.

Andover Police are investigating alongside Transit Police and detectives assigned to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.

Thursday’s accident comes eight months after 17-year-old Phillips Andover student Daniel Nakajima was hit and killed by a commuter train in the town. His death was ruled a suicide.
