The first meeting of the New Year for Haverhill Cares takes place Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall’s room 301.
Started by city parents John and Kim Cowan in memory of their 22-year-old son, Joey, Haverhill Cares aims to raise awareness of drug abuse and offer resources to those fighting addiction. The Cowan family lost Joey to addiction in October 2016 and vowed to “inform parents, guardians and family members trying to detect if their son or daughter has a problem before it’s too late.”
Haverhill Cares meets the second Tuesday of each month.
