Michael N. Cunningham, 61, of Derry, N.H., husband of Susan (Riese) Cunningham, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, N.H.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Norman and Marion (Tobey) Cunningham. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1974. Cunningham was always trying to make people laugh and with his quirky sense of humor could find the humor in any circumstance. Even during times when he was not feeling well, he would still reach out in his own kind and caring manner, always trying to help out. Although he left this world too soon, everyone is grateful to know he no longer suffers.
In addition to his wife Susan, he is survived by his daughters, Rachael Cunningham and Erin Cunningham, both of Derry, N.H.; brother, Shawn Cunningham of Haverhill; Norma Bates and her husband John of Haverhill; Cynthia Leavitt of Sanford, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are private. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.
