David A. Daniels, 89, passed away peacefully Sunday Dec. 24, at Penacook Place Haverhill.
He was the son of the late Louis and Irene (Surette) Daniels. Raised in Haverhill. he graduated from Haverhill Trade School in 1946. He went on to enlist in the U.S. Army serving two years with the Army of Occupation in Japan. He enjoyed a successful career at AT&T, formerly Western Electric, in North Andover and Norcross, Ga., for 32 Years. He was a life-long member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
He was one of Haverhill’s standout fast pitch softball players for many years.
Daniels was predeceased by his sister Virginia Morris who passed away in 2014 and a brother in law George E. Morris Jr. who passed in 2015. He leaves his wife of 67 years, Lorraine M. (Dillon) Daniels; daughter, Patricia V. Daniels; sons, David A. Daniels Jr. and Richard C. Daniels; daughter in law, Caroline Daniels; three grandchildren, Matthew Daniels and his wife Amanda of Haverhill, Timothy Daniels and his wife Emma of West Peabody, Alyssa Marucci and her husband Shawn of Plymouth; three great grandchildren, Bella, Kayla and Max Marucci as well as several cousins.
His family thanks the staff at Penacook Place for the care and compassion they showed him while he was in their care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Saturday, Dec. 30, at 11:15 a.m., at the H.L. Farmer and Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford. An hour of visitation precedes the funeral service from 10 to 11. Burial takes place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in the spring.
