Homeless and disadvantaged Merrimack Valley residents have an increased chance of receiving healthcare treatment through the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center thanks to a $5,000 grant from Columbia Gas.
The Center received the funding to support its mobile health unit and further the efforts of its Health Care for the Homeless initiative. Through their mobile truck, Merrimack Valley residents can obtain medical attention without having to visit a clinic location.
“We clearly saw the value in this project and chose to back it with critical grant funding through our parent company’s foundation,” Columbia Gas of Massachusetts community relations manager Andrea Luppi said. “We are pleased to partner with GLFHC to keep the mobile health unit where it belongs: on the road, treating patients.”
With six locations in Lawrence and Methuen, the Greater Lawrence Health Center provides primary care to 60,000 residents across the Merrimack Valley.
