Department of Health to Consider Covanta Site Improvements Tuesday

Haverhill’s Board of Health will hold a public hearing Tuesday to consider Covanta’s proposal to increase its recycling output from 1,650 tons per day to 1,732 tons per day. The open forum is scheduled for Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. in room 301 of City Hall, 4 Summer St.

The waste up for discussion includes materials that are recycled, combusted or reused. Covanta will continue to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week without interruption.

Here’s what’s happening during other municipal meetings this week:

Haverhill’s Board of Assessors will officially set the tax rate for the 2018 fiscal year on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at a 9 a.m. meeting in room 115 of City Hall.

The Zinnia Montessori School seeks a special permit for Pre-K through Kindergarten at 75 Foundation Ave., in the city’s Ward Hill section. City Board of Appeals will hear their request Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. in room 202 of City Hall.
