A utility pole hangs by overhead wires after a crash in front of Sacred Hearts School Tuesday afternoon.
A 40-year-old, Fremont, N.H., man was injured Tuesday afternoon when his truck snapped a utility pole and struck a walk light post in front of Sacred Hearts School, Bradford.
The man was driving a white, 2007 Hino box truck northbound on South Main Street just before 1:30 p.m. when the accident occurred. The northbound side of the street was closed and area businesses along South Main Street to lose power while National Grid conducted repairs. The injured driver, who was not identified by Haverhill Police pending completion of an investigation, was treated on scene and taken to Lawrence General Hospital, according to Detective Lt. Robert P. Pistone.
Sacred Hearts School reportedly moved children away from front-facing rooms after the accident. No other injuries were reported and no charges have been filed.
Haverhill Fire, the city highway department and Trinity EMS ambulance also responded. The truck, owned by G & C trucking, Kingston, N.H., was towed by Coady’s Towing Services.
