William J. Beier, 93, Retired Warehouse Supervisor for AT&T/Western Electric

William J. Beier, 93, of Groveland, and formerly of Haverhill, died Dec. 10, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill.

Born in Lawrence, son of Fred and Sarah (Christian) Beier, he attended grammar school in Lawrence, and graduated from Tenney High School, Methuen, with the class of 1942. He worked as a warehouse supervisor for AT&T and Western Electric until his retirement in 1987.

He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a former member of the Communication Workers of America. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards – especially 45s and cribbage. A former Winter resident of Destin, Fla., Beier also enjoyed traveling.

The husband of the late Helene (Fournier) Beier, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David J. and Suzanne Beier of North Port, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Donna M. and John Morse of Maryville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, William “Billy” Beier, Eric Beier, Christina Lynch, Robin Morse, Mary Dimond and Kelly Morse; eight great grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, Dec. 17, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral service follows at 5:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial takes place at a later date.
