Robert J. Caron, 89, Worked at Haverhill Paperboard

Robert J. Caron, 89, of Groveland, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5 at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Mary (Torosian) Caron.

Caron was born in Lawrence on Sept. 8, 1928, the son of the late Ernest and Yvonne (St. Pierre) Caron. He was raised in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School. Caron honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the Bronze Star, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Caron was employed for several years with the Haverhill Paperboard. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by those who were blessed to know him.

He is survived by his son Bruce Caron and wife Lisa of Ludlow, Mass., three grandchildren Jonathan, Renee’ and Grace, and his great-grandchild Lillian. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and countless friends including his dear friend Carolyn Capen.

A graveside service in memory of Caron’s life will be held Friday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. from The Linwood Cemetery, 41 John Ward Ave., Haverhill.
