Jean E. (Gasper) Mansell, 83, Teacher’s Aide at Pentucket High School

Jean E. (Gasper) Mansell, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. She was the wife of the late Bruce W. Mansell.

Born in Haverhill on October 23, 1934, Mansell was the daughter of the late Harriet (York) Gasper.

Following her graduation from Haverhill High School, Class of 1952, Mansell continued her education at MacIntosh Business School. Her work progression began at Western Electric working as a stitcher for six years. She then worked eight years as a Teacher’s Aide at Pentucket High School. She joined the former Family Bank where she worked 20 years as a Customer Service Representative before retiring in 2000. Mansell was a longtime member of the Groveland Congregational Church where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Mother’s Club, and taught Sunday school. Her boundless love, support and devotion to her family was the focus of her life. Her family members and friends enjoyed countless hours of enjoyment at the family pool.

Mansell is survived by her children, Barry Mansell and his wife Carol of Haverhill, Karen Moughan and her husband Paul of West Newbury, Darcy Gregoire and her husband Jim of Revere; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Monday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. at Groveland Congregational Church. Burial at Riverview Cemetery will be private. At the family’s request, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mansell’s memory may be made to the Groveland Congregational Church, 4 King St., Groveland, MA 01834, or the Pentucket Scholarship Fund, P.O.
