Fernande G. ‘Fern’ (Aube) Lavallee, 91, Assembler at Western Electric

Fernande G. “Fern” (Aube) Lavallee, 91, a former longtime resident of Greystone Avenue in the Bradford section of Haverhill, died Friday, Dec. 1 at the Nevins Home in Methuen.

Born in Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of the late Albert and Eva (Labrecque) Aube, she attended Saint Mary’s School and Lewiston High School. A resident of Haverhill for most of her life, Lavallee was a member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish.

Primarily a housewife and homemaker for her husband and children, Lavallee was employed for 15 years as an assembler at Western Electric and AT&T Technologies before retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Communication Workers of America, Local 1365, the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Saint Joseph Bowling League.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lavallee was an accomplished seamstress and cook. She enjoyed entertaining her own children and their families as well as the large extended families of her many siblings and looked forward to creating wonderful meals for the holidays and Sunday dinners in her home. She also enjoyed trips to Florida with her late husband as well as summers and winters at their lake house on Mousam Lake in Acton, Maine.

Predeceased by her husband Albert A. Lavallee, in 2001, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Theresa M. “Terri” and Wayne Boutin of Dracut, three sons, Gerard L. “Gerry” Lavallee of Plaistow, Paul R. Lavallee and his partner Kelvin Sylvester of Haverhill and Robert H. Lavallee and his wife Karen of Westford, two sisters, Jacqueline King of Greene, Maine, and Constance DeBlois of Lewiston, Maine, six grandchildren, Erin Wilson, Christopher Lavallee, Cory Lavallee, Danielle Lavallee, Nicole Lavallee, and Nicholas Lavallee, four great-grandchildren, Maegan Wilson, Sarah Wilson, Madison Lavallee and Cody Lavallee and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her brothers Robert, Lucien, Roland and Bertrand Aube and sisters Laurette Drouin, and Claudette Belotta.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lavallee’s Life Celebration to be held on Monday, Dec. 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, Haverhill. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to The American Lung Association, 161 Worcester Road, Framingham, Mass., or to Beacon Hospice, 13 Branch St., Methuen.
