It’s #GivingTuesday! How to Lend Your Support Across the Merrimack Valley

It’s #GivingTuesday! With Black Friday and Cyber Monday out of the way, Nov. 28 marks Giving Tuesday, a global day of activism and philanthropy. Many Merrimack Valley charities and organizations are participating in the effort. Here’s how you can give back locally this Tuesday:

Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill: Align Credit Union will double donations made to the Club on Tuesday. Donate online here.

Community Action, Inc.: The Greater Haverhill organization that supports self-sufficiency for low-income working families kicks off its annual fundraising campaign, “Grow Stronger Families & Communities” on Tuesday. Donate online here.

Emmaus: Help Emmaus help those homeless men, women and children in Haverhill rebuild by donating on Tuesday. Haverhill Bank will match funds raised up to $2,500. Donations are accepted online or by mailing a check payable to Emmaus, Inc., to P.O. Box 568, Haverhill, Mass., 01831. Please note “Giving Tuesday” in the memo line and date your check for November 28.

Essex County Community Foundation: ECCF uses its donations to educate nonprofit leaders across Essex County and connect them with local funding. Donate online here.

Greater Lawrence Family Health Center: Funds raised on Giving Tuesday go directly to the opening of new sites and training healthcare professionals in the Merrimack Valley. Text GLFHCCARES to 41444 or donate online here.

L’Arche Boston North: Donate to maintain the four communal homes that provide lodging, day programs and other activities for people with intellectual disabilities. Give back online here.

WHAV: The only Haverhill-based news source kicks off its annual appeal today with the second annual “GiveBig to MyStation” campaign. Please remember Tom Bergeron’s plea. “I started at WHAV in 1972 and, look, WHAV is still here, but it won’t be if you don’t help support it…become a contributor. Keep us going.” Donate online here.
