Rosemary Ann (Linnehan) Cleary, 77, Medical Secretary

Rosemary Ann (Linnehan) Cleary, 77, of Haverhill, died Friday, Nov. 24 surrounded by her children and dear friends.
She was born on May 6, 1940, the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Rosella M. (Colby) Linnehan.

Cleary grew up in Newton, N.H. with her parents and grandmother Rose E. Colby. She graduated from Haverhill High School in 1958 and from the Chandler School for Women in Boston in 1960. She worked as a secretary to the Director of the Hale Hospital early in her career and later worked for many years as a medical secretary at Pentucket Medical Associates In the early 1960s she lived and worked in Okinawa, Japan while her former husband, the late Francis W. Cleary, Jr., was stationed there in the Army.

Cleary loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved flowers and decorating, travelling, taking day trips, cooking, entertaining, attending her book club and spending time with her many friends. She was a devoted daughter who cared for her mother at home for many years during a period of declining health. She will be remembered for her loving spirit, kindness, generosity and infectious laugh.

She is survived by her loving children Jennifer Cleary Spargo and husband Brian of Dover, N.H. and Francis T. Cleary of Manchester, Mass., grandchildren Tara, Daniel and Sarah Spargo and many beloved friends who were like family.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 So. Main St., Haverhill from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday morning in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.
