Rita M. Prue, 92, Retired from Western Electric

Rita M. Prue, 92, of Farmington N.H., and formerly of Crystal River Fla., and Haverhill, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22 at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.

She was born on May 20, 1925 in Manchester, N.H. and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Blanchette) Martin.

Prue was educated in the Haverhill Public School system and attended Haverhill High School. She was employed for over 20 years at Western Electric from where she retired.

She enjoyed playing cards and Chinese Checkers and watching Dancing With the Stars and Survivor. She was an avid Boston sports fan when she lived in Haverhill. Her favorite thing was spending time with family.

She is survived by her children, Dennis Prue and his wife Susan of Farmington, N.H. and Cheryl Carter and her husband Joseph of Crystal River, Fla., two sisters, Beatrice Boisvert of Haverhill and Joanne Gauthier of Tyngsboro, 11 grandchildren, Stewart, Courtney, Dennis Jr., Brian, Allison, David, Michelle, Michael Jr., Brendan, Ryan and Ashley, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also very close with her former daughter in law, Margret Prue.

She was predeceased by her two sons, Michael D. Prue and Stewart F. Prue III and her siblings William, Joseph, Raymond, Lucille, Helen, Jeanette and Doris.

At Prue’s request, funeral services will be private with burial to take place in Florida.
