Haverhill’s fourth shooting incident in five days left a 24-year-old with a shoulder wound late Friday night.

Haverhill Police are investigating the latest shooting that took place around 11:30 p.m., in a parking lot behind 62 Portland St. The unidentified male victim was taken to Lawrence General Hospital with what was believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. His condition was unknown at news deadline.

Asked whether gang-related disputes are contributing to the rash of gunfire incidents, Detective Lt. Robert P. Pistone told WHAV Haverhill Police are looking into that possibility. He asks for the public’s help in providing any information. Anonymous tips may be left by calling 978-373-1212.

The shooting follows last Wednesday’s shooting when a young man was struck near 51 Bellevue Avenue just after 2 in the afternoon. He was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. About an hour later, police were dispatched to Freeman and Pilling Streets after receiving reports of shots fired from one vehicle chasing another. There were no known injuries.

At about 10:30, last Monday night, police were sent to the area of 10 Varnum St. and found a man in the street who had also been shot. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Pistone said all cases remain under investigation.

  1. Same area where Mayor Jimmy and City Council open their arms to illegal invaders. We have enough issues by the indigenous population, and Mayor Jimmy and his friends up on Beacon Hill roll out the welcome mat to the invaders and Dominican Drug Cartel with open arms. Same area (50 White Street) where the once deported invaders lived that raped the woman at the stadium. The residence where they lived at that time, held by a fake shell company, visited multiple times by city officials due to complaints, and did nothing.
