Donald R. Shea, 55, X-ray Technician

Donald R. Shea, 55, passed away Monday, Nov. 13 after a long illness at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.

Born in Biddeford, Maine, he was the son of Romaine (Emilio) Shea of Haverhill and the late Deputy Donald “Jake” J. Shea. Raised and educated in Haverhill, Shea was a graduate of Haverhill High School’s class of 1979. He went on to study at Northern Essex Community College, where he obtained an Associate’s Degree. Shea was employed as an X-ray technician, working at various hospitals throughout the Merrimack Valley. He was an avid antique collector and he had a great collection of LP albums and guitars.

In addition to his loving mother Romaine, he is survived by his sister Jane E. Yerrington and her husband Ernest of Manchester, N.H. and his niece and nephew Abby Shea Yerrington and Preston D. Yerrington. In addition to his father, he is predeceased by his sister Lisa M. Shea.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, Nov. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Friday morning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12 p.m. in St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill. Donations may be made in his memory to Liz Murphy Open Hand Pantry, 6 Cottage St., Haverhill.
