Mary A. (Brown) Adams, 83, Worked at Lucent as Layout Operator

Mary A. (Brown) Adams, 83, passed away Nov. 8, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Ralph L. Brown Jr. and Harriet A. (Paul) Brown. Adams was raised and educated in Haverhill and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1952. She was employed for many years at Lucent as a layout operator and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed knitting and was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Adams is survived by her children, Doreen Sciuto and her husband Jim of Haverhill, Dennis Adams of Haverhill, Lynne Brooks and her husband Mark of E. Hampstead, N.H., David Adams and his wife Debbie of Haverhill, Lisa Pond and her husband Kevin of Haverhill, and Gary Adams and his fiancée Linda of Bradford; long time companion Walter Turgeon; siblings, Les Brown of Bradford, Gerald Brown and his wife Mary of Haverhill, Ralph Brown and his wife Ellen of Haverhill, Robert Brown and his partner Ron Bergeron of Ogunquit, Maine, Paula St. Jean and her husband Joseph of Kingston, N.H., and Fay Belanger and her husband Steve of Plaistow, N.H.; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Ronald Brown.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Adams’ life Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m., and funeral service at 11:30 a.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Burial follows in Linwood Cemetery, John Ward Avenue, Haverhill.
