Margaret B. (Flammia) Demeritt, 89, of Haverhill, wife of the late Clifford E. Demeritt, passed away Nov. 8, at Hannah Duston Nursing Home in Haverhill with her family by her side.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Jennie (Day) Flammia. She attended Haverhill Schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1946. Demeritt was employed in the Haverhill shoe industry for more than 40 years. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, cooking and entertaining for the holidays. She enjoyed getting together with friends to play cards and bingo.
Surviving her are her children, Joy Ann (Demeritt) Ethier, Dennis C. Demeritt, David M. Demeritt and Clifford D. Demeritt; a sister, Marie Blaisdell; 11 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford E. Demeritt, sisters Frances Spencer, Connie Tuccolo and brother Edwin Flammia.
At the request of the family funeral services will be private. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.
