Ellsworth L. Thibodeau, 92, Draftsman, Delivered Meals on Wheels

Ellsworth L. Thibodeau, 92, of Westford, and a former long-time resident of Woburn, died Nov. 5, at the Bridges by Epoch Assisted Living Facility, Westford.

Born in Haverhill, son of Albert and Cora (Lavoie) Thibodeau, he attended Haverhill High School, graduating with the class of 1943. Mr. Thibodeau served in the United States Navy as an Artificer (Special Devices) Third Class. Following his discharge, he began working primarily as a draftsman for production, manufacturing and contracting companies.

Following his marriage to Jeannette Murphy in 1951, they moved to Arlington,and later were residents of Woburn from 1955 until moving to Wilmington in 2010 and finally to Westford in 2015.

He was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish, Haverhill and the Arlington Men’s Club, and made deliveries for the Meals on Wheels Program. An avid Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan, he enjoyed woodworking and bowling. He especially enjoyed the many trips and the time he spent with his wife, Jeannette, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jeannette (Murphy) Thibodeau; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Ouellette of Acton, MA and Connie Riley of Florida; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Leon Thibodeau and a sister, Evelyn Mooers.

Relatives and friends may attend Thibodeau’s Life Celebration Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral begins Thursday, Nov. 9, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10  in All Saints Parish, Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery with the rendering of U. S. Navy military honors.
