Holy Family Hospital is set to host a Red Cross blood drive and Be the Match bone marrow donor registry drive in honor of a Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School sophomore who overcame a genetic immune disorder after receiving a stem cell transplant.

The Flanagan family is partnering with the Haverhill Holy Family location on behalf of their daughter Allison “Alli” Flanagan for the drive, which takes place on Sunday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the first-floor auditorium.

Alli Flanagan is celebrating the one-year anniversary of her successful stem cell transplant, facilitated through medical teams at Boston Children’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. To celebrate her continued good health, Alli is encouraging members of the community to donate.

Residents who wish to be part of Be the Match, a national marrow donor registry, can have their cheek swabbed. Applicants are asked to bring their insurance card, as typing fees for the marrow donor registry drive are paid for through insurance or Michael’s Fund.

Blood donors should bring an ID and list of current medications.

Holy Family Hospital is located at 140 Lincoln Ave., Haverhill.
