Joyce L. (Hurley) Axford, 51, Worked at Anthony and Malcolm Insurance

Joyce L. (Hurley) Axford, 51, passed away Oct. 22 at her home in Methuen.

Born in Methuen, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Joyce H. (St. Jean) Hurley. She attended Groveland schools and was a 1984 graduate of Pentucket High School.

Axford was employed for 34 years at Anthony and Malcolm Insurance Agency in Bradford as a Customer Service Representative and Certified Professional. She was a fixture in the office and looked forward to serving her community there. Axford will be remembered as a great cook and baker, who loved the holidays and family get-togethers. She loved her dogs, shopping and music, especially new country music.

Axford is survived by her siblings, William C. Hurley, Jr. and his wife Roberta of Salem, N.H., John F. Hurley and his wife Ivy of Merrimac, Gregory T. Hurley of Salem, N.H., Edward C. Hurley and his wife Grace of Parker, S.D., Maribeth M. Weeks and her husband Mark of Windsor, Maine, her nieces and nephews, Jacqueline Hurley, Marissa Hurley Ross, Lauren Hurley, Gregory Hurley, Jr., Corey Weeks, Courtney Weeks, Colin Hurley, Fallon Hurley and many friends and associates.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will be on Wed., Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private. Donations may be made in her memory to MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, Mass., 01844.
