Grant Miller, 73, Worked in Leather Cutting Industry

Grant Miller, 73, died peacefully on Oct. 21 at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill after being diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer in October 2014.

Born on Jan. 20, 1944, in Hempstead, N.Y., he was the son of the late Ted and Betty Miller of West Newbury.

Miller graduated from Pentucket Regional School and received a Master’s Degree in History from UNH.

Over the years he worked in several different fields including the leather cutting industry and, most recently, shipping and receiving. He enjoyed many sports and played in a golf league at Far Corners for many years. An avid reader, Miller could explain things in such a way even his sisters could understand.

Miller leaves his sisters, Marilyn Miller of Bradford, Susan Miller and her husband Joe Edwards of Leroy, Mich., niece Megan Wierenga and her husband Keith and their two children, Miller and Amelia, and several cousins.

The family would like to thank Dr. Iasiello, Dr. Ingram and all the doctors, nurses, aides, ambulance workers and volunteers at Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Brighton, Dana Farber Cancer Care, Methuen and High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill, and Merrimack Valley VNA and Hospice for their care and kindness.

Arrangements by Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main Street, Haverhill will be private and at the convenience of the family. An act of kindness in Miller’s memory would be appreciated.
