Retired Haverhill teacher Jean Ray has left an imprint on the minds of many city students during her 30-year tenure and now the YMCA is paying an extra-special tribute.

Ray, who taught French, Latin and Spanish in city middle schools and Spanish at Haverhill High, will be recognized for her service at the Y’s Educator of the Year Dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

The YMCA’s ninth annual event will also recognize Covanta for its contributions to the community.

Tickets for the ceremony are $40 and include dinner at DiBurros (887 Boston Rd.) starting at 5 p.m. To reserve a seat, contact Colette Ekman at [email protected] no later than Tuesday, Nov. 7.
