Patrick J. Leavitt, 63, Navy Veteran and Raytheon Employee

Patrick J. Leavitt, 63, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22 at his home in Haverhill. A city native, Leavitt was the son of the late William J. and Alice (Johnson) Leavitt.

Leavitt graduated from Timberlane Regional High School in 1972 and obtained an Associates Degree in Political Science from Northern Essex Community College. The U.S. Navy veteran was honorably discharged and went on to work at Raytheon as an assembly technician.

He loved dancing and nightlife and will be remembered as a free spirit who traveled the world during his Navy tenure.

Leavitt is survived by his siblings Sandra Grover of Haverhill, Michael J. Leavitt and his wife Chris of Londonderry, N.H., Cynthia A. Croston of Raymond, N.H., Timothy W. Leavitt of Boca Raton, Fla., Daniel J. Leavitt and his wife Denise of Salem, Mass., Virginia Mitchell and her husband Steve of Danville, N.H. and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas M. Leavitt and sister Shelley Simmons.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Friday, Oct. 27 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill. Burial will follow in New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, N.H.
