Melchiore Tripoli Jr., 82, Donut Baker

Melchiore Tripoli Jr., 82, of Haverhill, husband of Donna M. (Enquist) Tripoli, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage, passed away Oct. 16, after a lengthy illness, at Wingate Nursing Home surrounded by his family.

Born in Tampa, Fla., he was the son of the late Melchiore Tripole and Harriet M. (Katz) Tripoli. He attended the Cobbert Jr. High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. Tripoli lived in Maine, California and Beverly before moving to Haverhill. He worked in the asphalt business at a hot top plant before he became a baker for the former Delight Donuts in Beverly and worked for Dunkin Donuts in Lynn. Tripoli was a jack of all trades and had many talents which included machinery, woodworking and carving to name a few. He will be missed for his entrepreneurship and his ability for problem solving.

In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by his children, Melchiore Tripoli II; Mark Tripoli; Michelle Tripoli; Ned Tripoli; Marshall Tripoli; four grandchildren; two sisters, Marion Pazzter of Lynn; Marlo Console of Peabody; several sister in laws; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Matthew Tripoli, sister, Maxin Hinde and brother Ned Edward.

Funeral services are private. Arrangements are by Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.
