Four people were sent to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after, according to initial reports, a pickup truck crossed into the path of an oncoming commuter bus on Kenoza Avenue.

Injuries were not believed to life-threatening and neither speed nor alcohol were factors, said Detective Lt. Robert P. Pistone, Haverhill police spokesman.

Three of the injured were passengers on a Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority bus, while the other injured person drove the pickup truck. Ambulances were dispatched to take the injured to an area hospital. The accident took place around 2:15 p.m., on Kenoza Avenue (route 110) and Victory Street.

A second commuter bus was called to transport the remaining passengers, according to witnesses. The bus was towed from the scene by Coady’s Towing of Lawrence.
