Jane Ellen (Leighton) Chadwick, 85, Moved to Bradford in 1956

Jane Ellen (Leighton) Chadwick, 85, of Bradford, died Sunday afternoon, Oct. 8, at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. She was born on March 29, 1932 in Lawrence, to the late Herbert and Norma (Coggins) Leighton, five minutes before midnight and 10 minutes before her twin sister. She married Kenneth Chadwick on Thanksgiving Day, 1951.

Chadwick was a long time resident of Bradford, moving there in 1956, where she made a house into a home. She loved cross country skiing, taking trips to Maine, cooking, and taking rides in the ‘Beamer’ and Jaguar. She enjoyed researching genealogy on her branch of the family and passionately enjoyed entertaining, playing cards with her friends, and loved time spent with her family.

Chadwick is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Chadwick of Bradford, two sons, Kenneth and his wife Bonny Chadwick of Dexter, Maine and Philip and his wife Wendy Chadwick of Hampstead, NH, a granddaughter Elisha, a great-granddaughter, Tayler, a sister, Joan Bradshaw of Lakeville, ME as well as several cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Wayne Leighton.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her celebration of life on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m., at the Second Congregational Church, 173 Washington St., Boxford, MA 01921. Interment will be private and at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill and Bradford.
