Karen A. (Thompson) Watkins, 71, Worked at Hannaford’s Grocery

Karen A. (Thompson) Watkins, 71, of East Hampstead, N.H., and formerly of Haverhill, passed away Oct. 5, at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, N.H., surrounded by her family and her best pal Diane Stabile.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Hector and Elaine (Driscoll) Thompson. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1964. Watkins was employed in the bakery and deli departments at Hannaford’s grocery store in Hampstead, N.H., for 15 years. She enjoyed going up to camp with her family in Bethel, Vt.

Watkins is survived by her children, Deborah Kinser of East Hampstead, N.H., Cynthia (Manakas) Tripari and her husband Anthony of Newton, N.H., Stephen W. Watkins Jr. of East Hampstead, N.H., and Michael Watkins and his wife Jessie (Hood) of Derry, N.H.; siblings, Mickey Thompson and Debbie Spears of Bradford, Kevin Thompson of Haverhill, David Thompson and his wife Jeanne of Bradford, and Doreena Smith and her husband Wayne of Haverhill; five grandchildren, William Kinser, Jr, Jason Kinser, Alexandra Tripari, Brady Watkins and Dillon Watkins; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Janice Vadeboncoeur and James Thompson.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m., at  Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. A funeral service follows in the funeral home at 7:00PM. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Salem Street, Bradford, Thursday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.
