In the latest in a series of shootings, a man was struck by gunfire Sunday night at a Hilldale Avenue shopping plaza.

Police do not believe the shooting was random and the victim is expected to survive his injuries, said Detective Lt. Robert P. Pistone, police spokesman. Police did not identify the man who was shot, release his age or residence or speculate on motives while an investigation is underway. No arrests were reported.

The shooting took place just after 8 p.m., at 2 Hilldale Ave. The victim was taken to a local hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Haverhill Police Department’s anonymous tip line at 978-373-1212.

  1. Oh no ! How can this happen ? I thought the Mayor had gang summits and meetings to stop this ? I just saw an email saying he hired 18 cops in the last few years ? Dirty little secret is how many cops have left during that time ? Ask him THAT question folks. He will not have an answer for you. BUT, he will tell you how many illegal immigrants live here and how he wants to protect them by making Haverhill a sanctuary city. BEWARE the false profit. Be careful who you vote for tomorrow !

  2. The HPD not releasing information about this shooting is total BS!!!
The public has a right to know everything about all crimes in the city.
What is the mayor hiding? He’s hiding that this is obviously yet ANOTHER criminal invader in the country illegally.
Yeh, go ahead voters….vote for Andy Vargas….this kind of shooting will be a daily occurrence just like it is in Lawrence if he gets elected.

    • Jackass Haverhill….. Of all the stupid things you say this has to be the worst. Are the police obligated to share information with you or the public about a active investigation. What’s wrong with you? You’ve always come across as a clown but you just took it to a new low. Maybe you need a break Jack
