Louise A. “Babe” Baxter, 96, Worked at AT&T

Louise A. “Babe” Baxter, 96, of Haverhill passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 24, 1920, the youngest daughter of the late Charles J. and Louise (Jacobs) Baxter, earning her nickname “Babe.” Raised and educated in Haverhill, she attended St. James Grammar School and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1938. A lifelong resident of Haverhill, Baxter had a strong faith and was a communicant of St. James Church in Haverhill. She was employed for many years at the former AT&T, which became Lucent Technologies. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, especially during the Holidays, her favorite time of the year.

Baxter is survived by her cousins including Hazel McGonagle of Haverhill, Harlene Gianoukos and her husband Deno of Haverhill; and several more cousins and extended family members. She was the sister of the late, Everett Baxter and the late Lorraine Baxter.

Family and friends are respectfully to attend a calling hour Friday, Oct. 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m., at St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill. Burial follows in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill.
