Helping to save the life of an accident victim has brought the Haverhill Police Department’s Employee Excellence Award to Patrolman Jared Brady.

Brady, who joined the force three years ago, received the award for the June to September quarter. In a statement, officials said Brady is credited with “proactive policing and meritorious service.”

“Officer Brady is being recognized for his actions at the scene an ATV accident, where the individual involved suffered life threatening injuries. Upon his arrival on scene, Officer Brady assessed the scene and rendered swift medical aid, which very likely contributed to the individual surviving his injuries,” the statement reads.

Brady works the early night shift.
