David Lessard, 83, Korean War Vet., Retired from Haverhill Paperboard

David Lessard, 83, of Haverhill, passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, at Penacook Place.

He was born in Haverhill March 28, 1934, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Whittaker) Lessard. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1953, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1953-1957 receiving the National Defense Medal.

Lessard was employed at the former Haverhill Paperboard for more than 42 years retiring in 1999. He enjoyed sports and was the Haverhill pool city champ.

He was the husband of the late Beverly (Dinsmore) Lessard and father of the late Linda Graham and Dorothy “Dottie” Lessard Brownsberger. Lessardis survived by his brother, James Lessard of Salem, N.H.; sister, Rosemary Silva of Bradford; two sons-in-law, Scott Graham and Ben Brownsberger; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Thursday, Oct. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral is Friday, Oct. 6, beginning at 10 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 S. Main St., Bradford.
