Ill Methuen Teen and Family to Receive Gift from Cops for Kids with Cancer

A Methuen teen and his family has been chosen by the Braintree-based Cops For Kids With Cancer to receive a $5,000 donation to assist with his ongoing cancer treatment.

Daniel Herrera-Abreu and his family will receive the gift during a ceremony Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m., at Sanborn Hall, 90 Hampshire St., Methuen, according to a statement from Methuen Mayor Stephen N. Zanni and Police Chief Joseph E. Solomon.

Since its inception in 2002, Cops for Kids with Cancer has donated more than $2.5 million to families with children stricken with cancer. Cops for Kids with Cancer is a charitable organization focused on raising funds to provide assistance to families of children fighting cancer, to improve their quality of life.
