Patricia A. (Flood) Hamel, 62, Salvation Army Volunteer

Patricia A. (Flood) Hamel, 62, of Haverhill and formerly of Methuen, passed away Sept. 11, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston with her family by her side.

Born in Methuen, she was the daughter of the late James and Marie (Benoit) Flood. She attended Methuen and Lawrence schools. She has lived in Haverhill for the past 12 years. Hamel was employed as a chef for many years at various restaurants throughout the Merrimack Valley and was a volunteer at the Salvation Army in Haverhill, providing meals and serving her community.

Hamel is survived by her daughter, Sandra Flood-Vanyo of Haverhill; Thomas Flood and Denise Velez of Lawrence; David Flood and Jennifer Beagley of Lexington, Ky.; sister, Carol Ricci of Salem, N.H.; six grandchildren, Savannah Flood, Elizabeth Flood, Katherine Flood, Alexis Flood, Patricia Flood, Patrick Flood; great grandchild, Braylain Feliz; and her former husband, Leo Hamel of Methuen. She was predeceased by her siblings, Katherine Flood, Jean Flood, Shirley Rapagelia and James Flood.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m., at the Salvation Army Church, 395 Main St., Haverhill. Arrangements are by the Kevin B.
