Ruth A. (Joly) Maciak, 91, Worked at Andover Inn

Ruth A. (Joly) Maciak, 91, a former long time resident of Merrimac and Newburyport, passed peacefully at the Wingate at Haverhill Sept. 5.

Born in Salem, Mass., Jan. 17, 1926, Maciak was the daughter of the late David E. Joly and the late Annie (Tellardin) Joly Weber and attended Salem public schools.

Prior to her retirement, she enjoyed working at the Andover Inn on the campus of Phillips Andover Academy. She lived her life with a positive attitude, holding on to her most favorite saying “You get back what you give out.” She will also be remembered for her love of Cocker Spaniels, Pussy Willows and Black Eyed Susans.

Maciak leaves her daughter, Gretchen Hildebrandt of Haverhill; sons, Michael Maciak and his wife Kim of Alton, N.H., and David Maciak and his wife Joan of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandson, Jeffrey Maciak of Somerville; brother, Dr. Ralph Joly and his wife Karen of Kentucky; sister, Linda Joly Bollinger of Boston; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to being predeceased by her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Donald Joly of Las Vegas and David Joly of Geislingen, Germany.

The Maciak familythanks the staff of the Wingate at Haverhill nursing home for their loving care and kindness.
