John Clevesy, 74, Retired from International Paper Co.

John Clevesy, 74, of Groveland and formerly of Haverhill, passed away at home with his family by his side Tuesday morning, Sept. 5.

Clevesy was born in Haverhill Jan. 5, 1943, son of the late Perry and Edna (Hersey) Clevesy. He was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from Haverhill High School and Haverhill Trade School.  He enlisted in the Navy and served as a Seabee during the Vietnam Era. Prior to his retirement, Clevesy was employed at International Paper Co. as a technician.  He enjoyed fishing and was an amateur geologist and family rock hound.

Clevesy was predeceased by his two brothers, Perry and Robert Clevesy. He is survived by his wife Annastasia “Queenie” Clevesy; three children, Matthew and his wife Elizabeth Clevesy of Groveland, Wendy Clevesy of Groveland and Rockie Clevesy of Haverhill; brother, Richard and his wife Jean Clevesy of Groveland; sister, Sheila and her husband Dennis St. Louis of Plaistow, N.H.; four grandchildren, a great granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At the request of his family, funeral services are private. Donations in his memory may be made to Veterans Support Foundation, 366 Union Ave # 1, West Haven, CT 06516. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill and Bradford.
