The public can safely complete online transactions on both sides of the state border.

Joining other communities, both Groveland and Atkinson, N.H., have added so-called “MeetUp Spots.” In Atkinson, N.H., the meeting area is on the Maple Avenue side of the police station. It is being offered in partnership with Offer Up, an internet buying and selling marketplace. Groveland’s spot is also at the police station at 181 Main St.

“We know that the trend of purchasing and selling items online is only going to continue to rise, so we wanted to allocate a space to our community members to make safe transactions,” Police Chief Jeffrey Gillen said.

Both the Atkinson, N.H., and Groveland MeetUps are monitored by security cameras.
