Gentjana (Hajro) Murati, 43, Worked for Area Banks

Gentjana (Hajro) Murati, 43, of Haverhill and formerly of Lynn, died Aug. 26, at her home.

Born in Cerik Albgson, Albania, the daughter of the late Gazeli Hajro and Sofije (Pasha) Hajro, she attended Tirana University and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics. She came to the United States in 1998 and became a U.S. citizen in 2007. She worked as a branch manager for Citizen’s Bank in Chelmsford and also worked for Bank of America and TD Bank. She graduated from the Nursing Program at Northern Essex Community College this year and had enrolled and been accepted into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Curry College for the fall semester.

A member of the West Congregational Church in Haverhill, she was an avid reader and an artist who enjoyed painting in oils. She also enjoyed sewing, decorating, cooking and home designing. Having received her certification in Early Childhood Education, she was an active volunteer at many local schools where her children attended, including Moody, Golden Hill, Tilton, Nettle and Haverhill High School.

She leaves her husband, Kadri Murati; three sons, Justin K. Murati, Kadri Murati Jr. and Julian A. Murati, all of Haverhill; mother, Sofije (Pasha) Hajro of Albania; brother, Roland Hajro of Albania; sister, Floreta Bruzi of Albania; and several aunts, uncles, a niece and cousins in Albania.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, Sept. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery, Haverhill.
